- What is your favorite newspaper front page? Why? My favorite newspaper front page was the "Killeen Daily Herald" because it seems more interesting than all the other newspaper in Texas.
- What is your favorite headline from that newspaper? Why are you interested in it? My favorite headline was "Houseful of 'blessings'" because I read more into it and read that Linda and Joseph Grab had 15 children!
- How many stories are on the front page of your favorite? There was four stories on the front page of the newspaper.

Lenses and Photography Vocabulary
I would use a telephoto lens to zoom into a football game and see the facial expressions of the player's faces.
I would use a prime lens to take a picture of a basketball game since the lights are really dim and the lighting really sucks. It would be very clear and you can see the muscle definition of the basketball players.
I would use a wide angle lens to take a photo of a marching band's formation at a halftime show and being able to see all of the band clearly.
Depth of Field (shallow and wide)- the range of distances along the axis of an optical instrument, usually a camera lens, through which an object will produce a relatively distinct image.
Depth of field is important because it focuses in on the one area you want, either in the back or in the front.
Light (angle and intensity)- A source that brings the picture to life depending on where it comes from and how much there is of it.
Shadows- Can be effectively used to focus a viewer's attention.
Aperture (f-stop)- A space through which light passes in an optical or photographic instrument, esp. the variable opening by which light enters a camera.
Shutter speed- In photography, shutter speed is a common term used to discuss exposure time, the effective length of time a camera's shutter is open.
ISO- ISO measures the sensitivity of the image sensor.

Shadows- Can be effectively used to focus a viewer's attention.
Diffusion- Of light: scattering beam of light in many directions caused by sending light through semi-translucent screen.
Diffusion relates to taking better photos because you can cover up the flash with a thin sheet of paper and make the image better.
Exposure- Measure amount of light allowed on each section of a photo.
Exposure relates to taking better photos because you can make sure there is enough light let in for the image.
Aperture (f-stop)- A space through which light passes in an optical or photographic instrument, esp. the variable opening by which light enters a camera.
Aperture is great
Shutter speed- In photography, shutter speed is a common term used to discuss exposure time, the effective length of time a camera's shutter is open.
Shutter speed is effective because you don't have to make a picture blurry especially when you're taking a picture of someone moving.
ISO- ISO measures the sensitivity of the image sensor.
Iso is a great thing for great pictures because you can capture a quick picture when there isn't much light and when you want to freeze the picture without blurring it.

7 news values
1. Timeliness - Official: Fire damages South Austin home, displaces one
I think this article relates to timeliness because it just happened at 2:33 pm this afternoon.
http://www.statesman.com/list/news/local/latest-local-news/aFTH/
2. Proximity - Possible shooting reported in South Austin
This article is proximity because this Walgreens is near my home.
http://www.statesman.com/list/news/local/latest-local-news/aFTH/
3. Prominence - Cuba Trip by Star Pair Was Legal, Official Says
This story is about Jay-Z and Beyoncé and they are celebrities so everyone cares about them.
http://www.nytimes.com/2013/04/10/world/americas/cuba-trip-by-star-pair-was-legal-official-says.html?ref=americas&_r=0
This article is under "impact" because it's important for the citizens of Austin to know what the plan of future energy is going to be like and who is supervising it.
http://www.statesman.com/news/news/local/council-to-vote-again-on-independent-board-for-aus/nXHTQ/
5. Conflict -South Korea and U.S. Gird for Missile Test by North Korea
I put this for conflict because it's a very important thing even though North Korea won't do anything. It's important to stay alert so nothing happens.http://www.nytimes.com/2013/04/11/world/asia/north-korea-missile.html?ref=world&_r=0
6. Human Interest - MTV cancels controversial 'Buckwild'
I put this for human interest because because of Shain's death, the entire show was canceled. It was emotional.
http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/tv/2013/04/10/buckwild-shain-gandee/2070401/
I think this was novelty because it is very weird and awkward for a grown man to have child pornography.

Favorite cover
The editors’ description of the cover: "Just open the August 2011 issue and you'll find Mila Kunis looking sultry and super-sexy. But for the cover, we kept coming back to an off-the-cuff moment caught by Terry Richardson: her sipping an iced coffee, giant grin on her face, a bit of midriff exposed, eyes flashing. On the newsstands, surrounded by the usual array of too-perfect, too-posed beauties, her GQ cover is a total surprise; it has this immediacy, it feels new. That's because Mila looks exactly like herself here: authentic, exuberant, teasing, bold, utterly at ease and absurdly, mind-meltingly gorgeous. Iced coffee never looked so hot."
I like this photo because I LOVE Mila Kunis because she's hotttttttttt. This picture was good because it caught her off guard and she still looks gorgeous. The lighting was perfect for the shot and it was awesome.

choice sheet
I want to be in Yearbook next year cause I think it'll be really fun taking pictures of almost everything. I might not be able to be in here because I have to be double blocked for basketball but I hope I am able to join this class. I want to be a student who gets to see how the yearbook is going to be before anyone else does. I like taking pictures and making them look really cool so I hope I can do that for yearbook.

2012 in Review
What was the best song of 2012? The best song of 2012 was probably "Call me maybe"- Carly Rae Jepsen because EVERYONE was singing it, no matter if you liked it or hated it. It is super catchy. Sometimes I hear myself singing it.
What was the best movie of 2012? The best movie of 2012 was 21 Jump Street. It was the best movie to me because it was hilarious and had a good story plot. I watch it like every weekend because it's THAT good.
What was the best news story of 2012? The best news story of 2012 was the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut. It wasn't the "best news story" of 2012 because of the shooting and killing but everyone paid attention and felt the pain that the parents were going through at the time.
Who was the most important person of 2012? I think the most important person of 2012 was Kanye West because he came out with a lot of good music with his music group. I love Kanye West and he's my favorite rapper because of the things he had to overcome like him dropping out of college, his mother dying and him having to reconstruct his jaw after getting in a terrible car accident. He's also my favorite rapper because he makes awesome music.
What was the biggest sports OR entertainment story OR sports/entertainment person of 2012? I say that the biggest sports entertainment person of 2012 was Calvin Johnson because he broke Jerry Rice's (The greatest wide receiver of all time) record of most receiving yards in one NFL season. This was amazing because It was really hard to break.
Favorite Photos of 2012
This was one of my favorite pictures of 2012 because it is amazing how the ant can hold a rock that's heavier than itself and the photographer did a great job of taking the picture.
This was also one of my favorite pictures of 2012 because the creativity of this picture is so awesome and the way the people below knew how to stay to make it seem like it's a lady was pretty amazing.
This is my favorite picture of 2012 because the fact that he broke the sound barrier was pretty intense. This was one of the greatest stories that I had heard about.
My holiday
1. Tell me what is the one thing that happened on your holiday that you will remember? It can be a trip, a family visit, a present, something fun. I went to Houston to visit my great-grandma and I had tons of fun.
2. What are your resolutions for the 2013 year? My resolutions for the 2013 year is to have better grades than last semester even though I got A's and B's.
3. What are you looking forward to in 2013? I'm looking forward to playing some more basketball all year!
